Tambopata Tours 4 days
ITINERARY:
- Frequency: Every day.
- Duration: 4 days 3 nights.
Day 01: Puerto Maldonado – Lodge.
– Pick up at airport or bus station.
– Transport from the airport to Madre de Dios Port.
– Board a motorized boat to go to the lodge (01 hour).
– Welcome meeting and set up in the rooms.
– Rest.
– Guided visit along the dirt paths, being able to appreciate all the medicinal plants.
– Sightings: birds, monkeys, trogons, macaws, butterflies, toucans, orioles, etc.
– Lunch and rest.
– Night hike to the lake: We will be able to see caimans, capybaras (the biggest rodents of the world), insects, and many more.
– Return to the lodge where we will have dinner and sleep.
Day 02: Tree Platforms – Monkey Island – Giant Otters.
– Morning walk at 05:00 hrs. on the tree platforms (40 meters from the ground). Panoramic view of the jungle and its birds (trogons, macaws, eagles, orioles, toucans, etc.).
– Breakfast.
– Hike to Monkey Island.
– Navigation by boat to the Tambopata National Reserve.
– Traditional lunch.
– Rowboat ride: We will be able to see brown-mantled tamarins, sloths, tufted capuchins, squirrel monkeys, brown howler monkeys, jacanas, hoatzins, pumas, snowy egrets, black vultures, etc. Possible sighting with families of endangered giant otters, as well as 5-meter long caimans.
– Return to the lodge where we will have dinner and sleep.
Day 03: Adventure in the cloud forest (rainforest).
– Breakfast.
– Hike to a nearby river, where we will fish for piranhas and other fish.
– Return to the lodge.
– Lunch and rest.
– Tree platform walk.
– Return to the lodge to have dinner and sleep.
Day 04: Return to Puerto Maldonado.
– Breakfast.
– City tour (main market / a variety of fruits belonging to the area).
– Transport to the airport or bus station.
