SACRED VALLEY OF THE INKAS

It is known as Sacred because the river that runs through the valley surrounds earth rich in quality that offers an amazing production of natural products such as giant maize, being the Valley known as the principal giant maize producer in the whole country of Peru.

The sacred valley is composed by the following cities:

Pisaq:

Its name is referred to a bird in the same family as the partridge, it is believed to have been an astrological center. At the base of this mountain, is the town where one of the most important craft market is located.

Urubamba:

Another city where we’ll have some time to have lunch and rest.

Ollantaytambo:

Powerful structures, canals and water fountains make up a beautiful picture. It is the oldest habited town up to this day, built by the Inca Pachacuteq and fortress of the general Ollanta.

Chinchero:

Spanish temple built on the Tupa Yupanqui palace as proof of Inca submission to the Spanish crown, their walls are covered with work from Diego Quispe Tito, greatest representative of Cusco painting.
