Tambopata Tours 3 Days
ITINERARY:
- Frequency: Every day.
- Duration: 3 days 2 nights.
Day 01: Puerto Maldonado – Lodge – Tambopata National Reserve.
– Pick up: At the airport or bus station.
– Transport: Airport to Madre de Dios port.
– Boarding: by motorized boat (1 hour).
– Rest.
– Guided visit along the gravy paths, being able to appreciate the medicinal plants.
– Sightings: Birds, monkeys, trogons, macaws, butterflies, toucans, orioles, and much more.
– Lunch and rest.
– Night hike to the lake: we will see caimans, capybaras (biggest rodent in the world), insects, etc.
– Return back to the lodge to have dinner and sleep.
Day 02: Tree Platforms – Monkey Island – Giant Otter.
– Morning hike: At 05:00 am on the tree platforms (40 meters from the ground). Panoramic view of the jungle and birds
(trogons, macaws, eagles, orioles, toucans, etc.).
– Breakfast.
– Hike to Monkey Island.
– Navigation on boat to the Tambopata National Reserve.
– .5km hike through the deep jungle to the Sandoval Lake.
– Traditional lunch.
– Rowboat ride: We will be able to see brown-mantled tamarins, sloths, tufted capuchins, squirrel monkeys, brown howler monkeys, jacanas, hoatzins, pumas, snowy egrets, black vultures, etc. Possible sighting with families of endangered giant otters, as well as 5-meter long caimans.
– Return to the lodge where we will have dinner and sleep.
Day 03: Return to Puerto Maldonado.
– Breakfast.
– City tour (main market / great variety of fruits native to the region).
– Transport to the airport or bus station.
