Tour Manu Reserve Zone 8 days

ITINERARY:

• Frequency: Every day.
• Duration: 8 days, 7 nights.

Important:

• La zona Cultural de Manu no precisa de vacunas contra enfermedades endémicas.

Day 01: Cusco – Huancarani – Funerary Tower of Ninamarca – Paucartambo – Acjanaco – Cloud Forest – San Pedro Orchids Lodge.

– Pick up at hotel.
– Bus transportation: Cusco – Huancarani (15 or 20 mins to rest, buy snacks and use the restroom).
– Guided visit: Funerary Tower of Ninamarca.
– Walk around the small town of Paucartambo: Enchanting colonial village known for its folkloric traditions.
– Lunch.
– Once in Acjanaco: (3560 m.a.s.l.) Entry to Manu National Park.
– Cloud Forest.
– Sightings: Falcons, insectivorous birds, orioles, monkeys, birds, cock of the rock, spectacled bear (possibly).
– San Pedro Orchids Lodge: Dinner and sleep.

Day 02: Cloud Forest – Pilcopata – Erika Lodge (460 m.a.s.l.).

– Search for the cock of the rock (national bird).
– Breakfast.
– Cloud Forest – Pilcopata: Canoeing (optional) free 1 and a half hours along the Koñeq and/or Alto Madre de Dios rivers.
– Boat: Atalaya Port – Alto Madre de Dios river (700 m.a.s.l.).
– Sighting: Parrots, herons, orioles, vultures, etc.
– Private Reserve: Erika (lodge).
– Hike: Transitional jungle between high and low jungles (paths).
– Optional: Night outing to see tarantulas, snakes, scorpions, amphibians, etc.
– Free option: Tree platform walking.

Day 03: Erika Lodge – Aguas Calientes – Boca Manu (365 m.a.s.l.).

– Boat to: Collpa (different parrot species).
– Return to Erika Lodge: Breakfast.
– Boat navigation to the Alto Madre de Dios river – Aguas Calientes baths.
– Cold lunch.
– Boca Manu village and bird sighting.

Day 04: Boca Manu – Reserved Zone/Cocha Salvador (395 m.a.s.l.).

– Brief stop: Stop at Limonal vigilance stand. (Registration and control of the visits to the Reserved Zone).
– Manu river boarding: Reserved Zone/Cocha Salvador (4 hours).
– Safari Camp.
– Sightings: Macaws, roses, capybaras, herons, caimans, river turtles, monkeys, possible sighting of a feline.
– Hike.
– Dinner and sleep.

Day 05: Reserved Zone/Cocha Salvador (395 m.a.s.l.).

– Morning hike: along the dirt paths.
– Breakfast.
– Navigation on catamaran: Sighting of giant otters, cornet frogs, tree frogs, colorful insects, etc.

Day 06: Reserved Zone/Cocha Salvador (395 m.a.s.l.).

– Morning hike: along the paths.
– Breakfast.
– Pack up and go downstream the Manu river.
– Arrival to Boca Manu.
– Dinner and sleep in the lodge.

Day 07: Boca Manu – Erika Lodge.

– Breakfast.
– We will go upstream the Alto Madre de Dios river.
– Return to Erika Lodge: Lunch, dinner, and sleep.

Day 08: Erika Lodge – Atalaya Port – Cusco.

– Breakfast.
– Navigation to Atalaya Port.
– Return bus to Cusco.
